Tips for a Winter Engagement Session

Don't let the winter chill keep you from planning your engagement session. The season is a perfect excuse to cuddle up close to your fiance. Plus, you can't beat the flattering natural light of winter. Your engagement session is the time to celebrate your commitment and love for each other. It's also a time to practice being in front of the camera with your wedding photographer before the big day. The shoot will show your personalities. Are you playful, silly or romantic?
These details will help your photographer capture the moments on your wedding day that are unique to the two of you. It'll help him bring out your best. 


Teshia and Timothy wanted an outdoor location that reflects who they are. They're a laid back and relaxed couple. We chose Daveste Vineyards in Troutman. The first winery in Iredell County. A hidden gem located 35 miles north of Charlotte. It's charming pastoral setting with a rustic wine-tasting room, pond, bridge and waterfall offers a variety of scenery.


Your winter engagement shoot is perfect for layering your favorite pieces. Teshia and Timothy are keeping it casual. We love Teshia's red coat with jeans and boots. The coat adds a pop of color in contrast to the backround. Timothy's red and white checked shirt complements the coat. And, there's no better time like winter to cozy up together on a blanket. 









What's the best way to warm up after an hour photo shoot outside? A glass of wine by the fireplace will do the trick. We are at a winery after all!




Your engagement session gives you a chance to become comfortable in front of the camera. Not everyone feels natural posing in front of a professional photographer.
