Three Reasons why Family Portraits are so Important.

Image
Family is such an important part of life. It may be THE most important aspect of your life. Creating memories together as a family is something to be proud of.  We all take pictures on our smartphones. As much as we love our family photo snaps, it's no comparison to the look and feel of a professional image. Gone are the days of the stiff and staged family portrait. Our professional family photo session brings your family together in a fun and relaxed way. It reminds you of the love for one another.  Here are three reason why: 1. It documents change. It's no secret that the years pass quickly. As an adult, you might feel more or less the same. However, children are changing on a daily basis. Before you know it, they're packing up and off to college. 2. It's special. When it comes to love of your family nothing is more important than the bond you share with one another. Smiles and laughter will fill your hearts. It captures your family's personality, including...

How do I choose my Bridesmaids?

Image
What is one of the most important decisions in the wedding planning process?  It's choosing your bridesmaids. You want to celebrate the big day with your closest friends. There are no hard and fast rules. It's all up to you. What's important is that you choose people you are closest to at this point in your life.  It's not the time for quid pro quo. Don't ask because they asked you. Or ask a college roommate you haven't spoken to in five years. Give yourself at least a month to think about it. Once you ask someone, there is no going back. Bridesmaids have responsibilities, so think of people who are the best fit.  What role do you want them to play? Do you want them to address wedding invitations and attend pre-wedding parties? Help you shop for your wedding gown?  It may not be the best idea to ask family and friends who live far away or have very hectic schedules. A good place to start is with your siblings. You want to include ...

Family Photo Sessions on Lake Norman, NC

Image
Your family photo session should be a reflection of you and your family. Finding the perfect location is as important as planning the session. Sometimes it's your own backyard, or a place that is sentimental to your family. One of our favorite places is on Lake Norman, NC. We love Jetton Park in Cornelius. It's a lakeside park with wonderful views of the lake and a small lakefront beach. It's pet-friendly with nature trails and picnic areas. If you live on Lake Norman, your own backyard is a perfect location. This family from Ohio, stayed in an Airbnb on Lake Norman for a family reunion. We took a pontoon to a sandy island and got some great shots. One of our favorites is with Murphy, the family pet, and photobomber. Family photo sessions are a great opportunity to capture the family having fun together. Photos conveying lots of love and joy. That's our goal. To view our Photo Gallery go to:  ht...

How many photos do you get from a Wedding Photographer?

Image
This is a question that every couple should ask. The more important factor to consider though, is quality not quantity. Anyone with a camera can take lots of pictures. What you want are great images that are well-composed and professionally edited. Amazing photos that capture the emotion of your wedding day.  A professional and experienced Wedding Photographer should take 100-150 shots per hour. The number of photos also depends on the number of hours booked and if there is a second shooter. Two photographers will capture the same moment at different angles. An example is the bride's aisle walk. It's a key wedding moment. One photographer will focus on the groom's expression as he sees his bride for the first time. While another photographer will focus on the bride as she walks toward the groom. There will be multiple shots capturing different moments and expressions. Getting-ready shots are a lot of fun. Sometimes it's the only down time a bride and groom w...
