How to make the most of an Engagement Session with your furry friends!

Engagement photo sessions are an exciting way to celebrate your upcoming wedding. They make perfect photos for your save-the-date cards, engagement announcements and wedding day decor. An engagement session also gives you the opportunity to work with your wedding photographer before the big day. It will help you get comfortable in front of their lens and with their style.

Many couples choose to include their dog in their engagement session, after all, they are part of the family. You want your photos to be natural and relaxing for them, as if it were any other day. Think about your dog's personality before choosing a location. If he or she is an anxious dog, consider your backyard. Your dog will feel more comfortable there. If not, a favorite park is a good choice. Angela and Glenn chose the tranquil Green Gables Farm in Statesville, NC.
It is also their Wedding Venue.

And what about the cat? The cat is a member of the family too. Cats might be more comfortable indoors, and at home for a photo shoot than the outdoors. George tried for awhile, then wanted to explore, rather than sit on a blanket with housemate Abby and their humans.
Capturing a cute moment with your pets may be fleeting, so your photographer will plan on taking lots of shots. Get creative with your pet's sign...let them show enthusiasm for their new parents.

Curling up in a scenic spot is another photo opportunity. This sign will work well for save-the-date cards.

Most dogs need a break. Maybe it's time for a rest, or to take another stroll and enjoy the grounds and beautiful spring weather. A walk, or game of fetch might be needed for some dogs before the next set of photos. It will help relax and calm them.

The "all paws" shot is the perfect way to highlight your engagement ring.

Remember, your engagement photo session gives you a chance to take pictures of yourselves that actually capture you at the time you just got engaged - deliriously happy and in love. It's a new experience together and the start of a new stage in your lives. You'll enjoy them for years to come.
