A Love Story and Baby makes Three

Image
Photographs are one's legacy. They connect us to our past. They remind us of people, places, and the stories of our lives. They help us to know who we are. One of the greatest joys of being a photographer is creating images that will become family heirlooms.   We have been honored to be part of Alex and Eddie's incredible story. From their engagement session at BB&T ballpark in Charlotte, to their Wedding Day at the Holiday Inn Charlotte. And more recently, to their maternity and newborn photo session. We asked Alex and Eddie to share some details about how they met, their engagement and the decision to start a family. Let the adventure begin! Alex and Eddie have known each other for seventeen years. They grew up as next door neighbors when Eddie was 11 and Alex was 8. Their friendship grew as they spent afternoons playing basketball, swimming and roaming around the neighborhood. Eventually in high school they became a couple around 2008. They attended the usual school dan...

The Bridesmaids' First Look

Image
What is a bridesmaids' first look? It's exactly what it sounds like. You'll get into your gown and accessories in a room separate from your girls. Usually with the help of your mom, mother-in-law or other women you are closest with.  Make sure to block off ten to fifteen minutes on your wedding day timeline so the photographer is ready. It takes time to get everyone in place beforehand. Then it's the big reveal! Your bridesmaids see you all at once. Expect lots of squeals, hugs and happy tears. We recommend a bridesmaid' first look if you have the time and space. No one wants to feel rushed, especially if you have a large wedding party. When there is a lot of commotion and chattering in a room, things can become overwhelming.  Getting ready in a private space offers a little quiet time before the...

A Romantic Summer Wedding at Langtree Plantation

Image
Derek and Lexi tied the knot this summer at the Historic Langtree Plantation in Lake Norman, NC. A charming wedding location with rustic and romantic flair. The gorgeous couple had us all sparkley-eyed with lots of joy and love.  The couple and wedding party spent the afternoon in the Langtree House getting ready for the big day.  Getting-ready shots are so much fun. And some of the sweetest shots you'll take with your besties. We love the matching satin pajama sets. Comfy and luxurious. Lexi spends private time with her mom as she helps her with her gown. Quiet moments before the festivities begin are special moments. We adore Lexi's gown. The lace design on the bodice is gorgeous. We love the romantic, cathedral length veil floating behind her. So dreamy.     The father-daughter first look melts our heart.   The bridesmaids are stunning in their full length robin-egg blue dresses. Derek is dashing, and his groomsmen look sharp in their black tuxedos...
